Mountain Biking with the Experts – Interview with Soul Ride Bike Shop

Prescott offers an incredible array of activities and destinations to engage residents and visitors, from Old Town Prescott with Whiskey Row to camping and hiking at Thumb Butte. But, did you know that Prescott also has a tremendous selection of mountain biking trails?

We talked a bit with Cina, one of the owners of Soul Ride, a mountain bike shop in beautiful downtown Prescott, Arizona to learn about the local mountain biking trails in and around Prescott. She shared insight into the options available for riders whether you’re an expert or a novice.

“We have amazing single track here for all levels of riding and one of my favorites is the newer edition to the Prescott trails, the Spence Basin area off Iron Springs Road,” said Cina. “The trail is really flowy, fun and it caters to all levels of riding.”

The Spence Basin area has 23 different trails over 25 miles and focuses mainly on beginner and intermediate rides. As a single track trail, the track is very narrow – just wide enough for one bike – through incredibly scenic terrain, especially on the upper trails. The trails wind through majestic ponderosa pines, striking boulder outcroppings and feature a new double-diamond rock drop feature for those seeking an adrenaline rush.

Cina’s shop, Soul Ride also offers classes and tours so if you don’t feel comfortable going out alone, the team at Soul Ride can take you out for a guided tour to enjoy the picturesque trails Prescott-area trails.

The surrounding Prescott forests also offer a number of mountain biking trails including Acker Park, Pioneer Park, Goldwater Lakes, Painted Rock Loop, Prescott Circle Trail and more.
