Wine Pairing Dinners at Morgan’s Bar & Grill
Maybe you’ve had a few glorious adventures on the trails around Talking Rock amidst the junipers, piñons, cedar and native grasses. Now it’s time for some culinary adventures. Why not try a wine-paired dining experience at Morgan’s Bar & Grill? Held on select Thursdays throughout the year, you’ll advance your knowledge of wines by enjoying a fabulous meal with every course complemented by an accompanying wine selection.
Featured wines are selected from a wide range of varietals and regions, both in the U.S. and around the world. Talking Rock’s executive chef and his culinary team match up wines and food, offering unique and seasonal menus in a casually elegant setting.
Each dinner begins with a reception at 5:30 p.m., followed by dinner service starting at 6 p.m. Seating is limited to 42, making every dinner an intimate and informative culinary experience. Learn about your neighbors while discussing whether a wine mirrors or contrasts the accompanying dish.
Does champagne go well with smoked salmon? What wine will the chef choose to accompany the saltiness or spiciness of the next course? You might know that steak and cabernet sauvignon are a successful match, but if the steak is topped with grilled mushrooms, does it give the overall combination even more punch? And what about dessert? Sometimes the best dessert and dessert wine combinations are based on pairing a not-too-sweet dessert, such as a nut tart, with a sweeter wine.
