Talking Rock UTV Club Explores Arizona
Talking Rock and Prescott are known for the beauty that surrounds them. Plentiful state land, miles of trails and a wide variety of terrain, flora and fauna mean there are countless opportunities for exploration. And what better way to explore than on a UTV with Talking Rock’s UTV Club!
A UTV or Utility Task Vehicle is a small two- to-six-person four-wheel drive off-road vehicle – also known as a SxS (side-by-side) or an ROV (recreational off-highway vehicle) – and is an excellent way to access remote tracks of Prescott and northern Arizona wilderness.
As part of the Talking Rock UTV Club, that’s just what you can do. Open to all Talking Rock members, you can own your own UTV, or rent it from several nearby shops for the excursions. The club takes regular day trips on the trails surrounding Talking Rock, but also hosts overnight events where you can spend a couple days adventuring through new areas of northern Arizona while enjoying the company of your adventurous Talking Rock neighbors. These events often include a stay at a hotel, dinners and other activities as part of your UTV itinerary. Most trips include 12-20+ UTVs with 20-40+ Talking Rock neighbors in attendance.
Recently the club put together a Sip and Wine Excursion which included a stay at the Tavern Hotel in Cottonwood Arizona. Club members enjoyed welcome drinks from several wine tasting rooms at the Tavern Grille, continental breakfast and a gift card to enjoy a delectable dinner at Nic’s Italian Steak and Crab Restaurant. The days were spent riding through the stunning red rocks of Sedona with a ride along the famous Sedona Broken Arrow trail. They also explored Mingus Mountain, the Palatki Ruins and Devil’s Bridge.
Talking Rock UTV club is looking forward to an upcoming November excursion near Lake Havasu. The trip will kick off with a seafood buffet dinner at the Bluewater Resort and Casino. One of the riding trails they’ll explore is the famous Desert Bar – Arizona’s most remote watering hole – and more of the surrounding area.
