Presidents’ Day Festivities: Golf and BBQ
In keeping with tradition, Talking Rock will be celebrating Presidents’ Day in style, on and off the golf course. Here’s what we’ve got lined up for an all-day celebration on February 17.
The Presidents’ Day Scramble kicks off the festivities with a 10 am shotgun start. The step-aside scramble offers a fun twist on the standard scramble format, speeding up play and providing more opportunities for less-skilled players to contribute. All four players hit drives on each hole, but for subsequent shots, the player whose previous shot was selected needs to sit out—or “step aside”—for that stroke.
The tournament will include men’s, ladies’ and mixed divisions, using handicaps of 25% A Player, 20% B Player, 15% C Player, and 10% D Player. Men will play from the Preferred (yellow) tees and women will play from the Spirit (blue) tees.
Entry fees are $20 for Homestead & Arizona members and $40 for Ranch members. Please stop by the pro shop to sign up, or give a call to 928.493.2600.
Whether you’re playing in the tournament or not, you’ll definitely want to join us for the Presidents’ Day BBQ at the Ranch House, which runs from 12 noon to 3 pm. Bring your appetite, as we’ll have a full menu of grilled favorites and plenty of cold beverages. Keep an eye on our social media channels for updates on the menu.
