The American Heart Association estimates that as many 200,000 lives could be saved each year if CPR were performed early enough. If it’s been 2 years or more since your last certification – or you just want to refresh your skills – please join us on Monday, February 24, for New Life Adult/Child CPR with AED and First Aid certification training for members. The session will take place from 12 pm–4:30 pm at the Fitness Center Studio.
Learning the techniques through CPR/First Aid/AED certification prepares you to assess the scene for safety and respond when faced with a heart attack, cardiac arrest, airway obstruction or another emergency – potentially buying valuable time before an ambulance or qualified emergency medical staff can arrive. The New Life course will cover three critical components for members who attend:
Basic CPR: Including CPR basics for adults, children, and infants, as well as airway obstruction identification and remedy for choking victims.
Standard First Aid: How to assess scenes and victims in a variety of the most common types of medical emergencies and injuries.
Automated External Defibrillators: Understanding AED safety, when they should be used, and how they should be used in conjunction with CPR.
Participation in the certification class is $45 per person. Please email firstname.lastname@example.org to sign up!
